Pollution and Odd-Even Scheme

Air pollution in Delhi is caused mainly by industry and vehicles.

Smog is caused by Motor vehicle emissions are one of the causes of poor air quality. Other causes include wood-burning fires, fires on agricultural land, exhaust from diesel generators, dust from construction sites, burning garbage and illegal industrial activities in Delhi.
The air quality of Delhi is getting worse after Diwali from past 3 years to improve the air quality Government of Delhi  has started
"Odd-Even" scheme in Delhi from 4th of November 2019 to 15th of November 2019.



Rules to be followed during Odd-Even
 
-Two wheelers are exempted from odd-even scheme.
- During the scheme the vehicle with odd last digit of registration number will be allowed on roads on odd dates and vehicles with even last digit of registration number are allowed on even dates.
- The rule will be applicable in Delhi from 8 am to 8 pm except on Sundays.
- The scheme will be applicable on all four whelled vehicle coming in the state.
- There will be exemption for Women driving alone or with children. School cabs,buses and private vans carrying children.
- A list of VIP'S have been issued for whom this rule is exempted.
- A heavy amount of ₹4000 will be charged if the rules of odd even scheme are violated.
